Prince of Persia 4

It's been almost 5 years since Ubisoft gave us its last Prince of Persia. Leaving us to think that was it, and that it was just supposed to be another trilogy in gaming. I'm glad to know we were wrong. Prince of Persia comes back and better than ever, with pretty much the same kind of gameplay but a few cool new features that will make this game one of this year's best.

This time around the Prince is not alone, and I'm not talking about a different self that comes every now and then like it used to in The Two Thrones. Now you go through the game with Elika, a princess/warrior-ish kind of lady that will make an excellent companion for you while trying to beat this game, as she will help you with long jumps, attack combos and all other cool stuff that the guys at Ubisoft have prepared for us.

Another thing worth mentioning about this game, is the graphics. Taking advantage of this gen's power in a lot of ways, Prince of Persia comes with a great new refreshing look, giving us sort of a cartoony feel but at the same time hard enough to keep us interested and eager to see what beautiful landscapes and moves this game has to offer.

Prince of Persia will be out on December 2nd, and will be available for PS3, PC and XBOX 360. The wii version, well, like with every single game... wiill have to wait.

New PSP 3000 dissapoints

Sony recently announced the new PSP-3000 model at the the Leipzig Games Convention, but youd be disappointed to see that it's pretty much the same. The only "new" things are the built in mic and now the HOME button has the ps logo on it. This probably to have an easier conectivity to the Playstation Network.

The new model will be out October 15th at a ridiculous price of $250. Worth it? I don't think so.

Bionic Comando Rearmed

Bionic Commando was one of the best action games for the NES. Its simple gameplay, cool action and friendly graphics made us spent countless days of fun playing it.

Since its original release in 1988, Capcom never worked on a sequel for this great game, with the exception of the Gameboy port in 1992 and Gameboy Color's Elite Forces in 1999. Today, we are expecting anxiously to play not a port, but the full remake of this game, Bionic Commando Rearmed that comes out next August 13th for the Xbox 360, PS3 and later on the PC.

Bionic Commando Rearmed comes with cool over the top 2D graphics and its simple addictive gameplay from the original, combining it with great single player modes, such as The Challenge Room and a Database, and the traditional multiplayer modes like Deathmatch and Last Man Standing, all of which will make you stay up for hours. Oh, I forgot, the best part is, it's only $10.

The Challenge Room is basically a time race mode in which you used your grappling hook to go from start to finish on a level. There is also a Stamina mode on the challenge room levels where the floors are filled with spikes and your challenge is to go from start to finish without dropping to the floor. Level times will be uploaded to a worldwide scoreboard where you can check your world ranking and the world-record times. The Database option has lists and descriptions of items, characters, weapons, and power-up items that are unlockable or found on other Capcom games.

The multiplayer modes are available in Free for All and Team Battle and they are for up to 4 players, playing to who has more kills on a Deathmatch, or who is the only survivor on Last Man Standing and there’s a cool Don’t Touch the Floor mode, where you battle with your opponents to drop them out of their grappling hooks.

I leave you with the trailer.

Multitouch-Table from IGD-Fraunhofer

Remember a couple of years ago when Microsoft presented Surface? Well, the guys from IGD-Fraunhofer have come up with better and less expensive solution: The MultiTouch-Table.

It has basically the same functionality that Surface has, but its main target are engineers and designers. The table is 1.5 x 0.9 mts., and it's one of the largest devices of this kind out there. It uses a camera to observe the tables surface and a software called VisionLib to track each finger independently reaching with this the multitouch aspect of it.

According to IGD-Fraunhofer "...using multitouch input on the one hand and 3D data visualisation on the other, a user now can almost touch the 3D content and seamlessly interact with it. Thus, the Touchtable itself becomes an incredible and unique tool for the presentation and explanation of advanced processes along the value chain of plant engineering and construction: Plant elements are selected by simply touching them. Once selected, these components can be rotated in almost 360 degrees and continuously be zoomed and regarded as close as possible. Never before, one could have such an incredible and phenomenal insight."

This is definitively one project we have to keep and eye on the years to come.

Aurora: Browsing the future

Aurora is a web browser concept being developed by Adaptive Path in partnership with Mozilla Labs as a part of the Concept Series Project, which is a project that encourages developers and designers to express and work on their visions of the future of browsing the web.

Yesterday, the team from Adaptive Path released their very first video of this technology in action. In the video, the demonstrate two people interacting remotely together in the same browser. It also showed full screen browsing, having the “toolbar” as a frame, which in my opinion looked pretty cool and the nicest thing of all was the “Spatial” view, where you could see your browsing history in a 3D environment, showing up front your most recent sites visited, leaving the older visits far behind.

Here’s the video they released yesterday. I truly recommend watching it with HD on and full screen at 1280x768 to really appreciate what they are trying to show.

Rock Band 2 coming out next month

Looks like Guitar Hero's greatest rival from MTV Games, Rock Band 2, will be released next month for the Xbox 360. According to this guy, some dude at some retail store found in its system the release dates for this game for each of the consoles. And as a proof, he took som pics of the screen and sent them out. Let's all hope he's right, or he's going to end up looking like a fool, LIKE A FOOL!!

Anyways, the realease dates he found are September 14th for the Xbox 360, October 19th for the PS3 and November 18th for the Wii.

I must mention though, this game looks pretty awesome. With 82 on disc tracks, most of them good songs, the backwards compatibilty with the original Rock Band, and the ability to download up to 500 songs by the end of this year will make this game crawl up on top of its genre. Adding to that, we'll be seeing music from AC/DC, Bob Dylan, Nirvana, Metallica, and a few songs from Guns and Roses' upcoming comeback album "Chinese Democracy", among others. I guess we'll just have to wait and see what Guitar Hero does to top that. You can pre-order or buy it here.

Here, I leave you the trailer. Enjoy.

Legendary looks awesome!

I'm sure that you're thinking "Oh man, another crappy sci-fi first person shooter..". But let me tell you: this game looks far from crappy.
Legendary is a fps in which you'll assume the role of a robber who dumbly opens Pandora's Box inside a New York museum and releases all kind of monsters on the world. Stupid thief! Check out some screenshots and the trailer:

You can pre-order it right here.

Demigod: Fantasy strategy gaming returns!

Since Warcraft III in 2001, this genre has been lacking of a good-over-the-top-fun game for us to play. Finally, with the release of Demigod, our hopes of enjoying this kind of rush again increases.

Set in a magical world where gods walk among mortals, Demigod blends action, strategy and role-playing elements into a thrilling new experience. Select the Demigod that will lead your minions into battle and unleash the dogs of war against your rivals. Your Demigod will do whatever it takes in order to ascend to true godhood.

Once in the Arena, each Demigod will be joined by support troops that fight to the death as you struggle to seize key control points and slowly turn the tide of war in your favor. And your Demigod will level up during the course of each battle, becoming even more powerful as you unlock new abilities and powers.

It's a brutal conflict of Demigod versus Demigod, where the very ground beneath their feet will tremble and quake.

Here is the exciting trailer for this amazing game.

This game will be released in February 2009, so we'll keep posting videos and screenshot as they are released, meanwhile you may visit its official website here. Here are some screenshots...

USB Batteries

Now, how cool are these? You won't need another battery recharger ever, since you now might be able to use your own usb ports to plug in your new usb batteries.
They're normal AA batteries made of Sealed Nickel-Metal Hydride (NiMH), they take a few hours to charge but still they're very handy and easy to use. You can buy them at thinkgeek.com for about $20 the pair.

Games now will be rated as movies

Yeah, that's right, at least in England anyway. Apparently, the market for video games has outgrown the actual classification so the British are going with the movie-rating-system for all video games now.

"Why?" - you might wonder. Well, the answer is pretty simple and very predictable: GTA IV.

According to REUTERS: "Ministers have come under pressure to tighten regulation with the release of violent games like Grand Theft Auto IV, a sprawling gangster adventure featuring car-jackings, prostitutes and drive-by shootings."

Who would have thought about it, right?

You can read the whole article here if you want.

Come on! Is it really that violent?

Ok, let's do this! I've been meaning for a while now, to start a blog about all the weird articles, pics, videos, flash games, and other interesting stuff that I've found hidden in the internet. But, come on! There's so much stuff out there that I had to narrow it down to just a few categories. I'm pretty sure that the title of this blog sells away which these categories are.

So anyway, I hope to be posting quite often and will be trying to write in my best english (notice that english is not my first language). Welcome gamers, gadgeters and goodie-whatever-ers...I hope you have as much fun reading this posts, as I will have posting.

Cheers,
